The Cabriolet RV haulers are Freightliner Cabriolet tractors designed to haul truck trailers. However owners of large RV’s like 5th wheelers and longer travel trailers have decided they are excellent for pulling their big rigs.
We found a 1993 FL 60 Cabriolet conversion RV haulers with an 8.3L, 2.75 HP Cummins engine, with a 6 speed automatic transmission. It is being sold as a package with a 1998 Alfa Gold model 253 GF 38 with a rear living triple slide Estate Series RLTES and a 72 in. slide out for a computer desk.
The cost for the package is $50,000. The seller is willing to sell the truck for $38,000 and the Alfa RV for $21, 000. The set up was way more than we needed or wanted but I sent the link to my friend Mike and his wife since they always travel with their four dogs to shows all over the country and need the room and power.
Obviously , owners of driveable RV’s like motor coaches and camper vans have no need for a Cabriolet conversion but that doesn’t stop us from admiring it’s performance, power and looks. My wife loves looking at the big RV’s and trucks. Neither of us really wants to own them.
I also found two other Cabriolet conversions that were being sold without recreational vehicles, a 1999 truck for $39,000 and a 2001 truck for $59,000.
A friend of mine, Tony, recently purchased a 1994 Cabriolet for just under $28,000 and he will do the conversion himself. He wants to buy a big travel trailer and wants a vehicle powerful enough to pull it in all kinds of weather conditions and terrain.
If you are interested in manual transmissions you can get that in a Cabriolet conversion also. It shouldn’t surprise us that the two groups of folks who do most the long haul driving, truckers and RVers would turn to the same vehicle to haul their loads.
