Iowa has always been a beautiful state to camp around.
The open country is the most beautiful thing you can see. There are some attractions to see by almost every campground.
The Des Moines area has the beautiful botanical gardens and the White Water University Fun Park.
The kids had a great time visiting both places. My wife and I enjoy sitting around the campgrounds sharing stories with everyone we meet.
We meet many different people from all over the country. We even gather little tips about different places to visit in the future. This is a great way to find great places to camp without finding out for yourself.
The Iowa countryside is another reason we enjoy the state. It is beautiful, there are so many areas that are untouched, and the vegetation and flowers are just beautiful. The hiking trails are what we found incredibly fascinating. The trails take you around the wooded areas and even by some historical sites.
The campgrounds that we stayed at were beautiful and so well organized. One in particular had so many activities planned for the visitors that we kept busy and so did the kids. The kids always had something to do.
We plan to head to Iowa in fall if we can get time away. We would love to see the beautiful fall colors.
It sounds like they have some interesting things to do around the campgrounds up to a couple weeks before Halloween. We will see if we can get away and see what the experience is like during the fall months.
Otherwise, we will have to plan a visit next year for sure. We do love the area and all the people we meet. Even the locals are nice to meet and talk to when you go into the towns.
