Our Family Likes Camping In Arizona

Camping In Arizona

The ultimate camping experience is in Arizona by the Sky Village. One of the most spectacular cities you can ever see is located by Portal.

To enter the village from the highway, you will drive down narrow roads that go down into the bottom of the mountains.

At the very bottom is a little depot like building that has buses that run up the mountain on the other side to the City in the Sky. This is spectacular to do and see. You do not see much traffic or any modern amenities, it is an Indian community with no transportation.

My family enjoys going here every year and seeing the many different sights around the area. This past year we visited the Ghost Town in Tombstone. You take a walk around the streets of the ghost town where they say the ghosts of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday still mosey around. They have enactments of gunfights and the buildings are all old time. Another favorite of mine when camping in the area is Mt. Graham International Observatory about an hours drive away. They have tours on the weekends and it is something to see. It is so high up in the sky it seems.

Campgrounds in Arizona are great. They have many activities that you can do right at the campgrounds, which makes it nice for families. I like to go to the south when it starts getting a little colder in the north. I travel with a truck camper so I have now worries about finding a place to stay.

I have found that this state has more to offer than the Grand Canyon. I like the attractions you rarely ever hear about. Of course, I am an adventurous my nature, my wife said. I like the outdoors and exploring.

*****

Going to Arizona was something that I had dreamed about for a while. The desert has always been a bit interesting to me, and going camping in the desert was definitely something that attracted me.

Of course seeing pictures of the desert simply was not enough for me. I wanted to be there, feel it with my own body and see it with my own two eyes to really see what it looked like and what was possible. I have to admit, I was completely blown away.

The sights and sounds of the desert are amazing, for my trip I decided to visit Dead Horse Ranch State Park in the Northern Part of the state.

The sheer ability to see for so many miles around you is something that is completely unheard of in most cities, even if they are not very large. The ability to look around and see very little was something of a strange, yet liberating experience and I must admit it was rather thrilling.

From looking at pictures of the desert and pulling from my own knowledge of learning when I was in school, I knew the area was a bit different. Yet at the same time, I still had no knowledge of what was really waiting for me.

The entire vacation was something almost surreal, it was one of the most exciting experiences I have had in a very long time and something that was eagerly planned for a while before hand.

I was never as excited as when I started packing up my pop up camper rental Arizona, after all I had heard enough about various snakes and such in the desert that I certainly was not going to be sleeping on the ground.

The pop up camper rental Arizona was the perfect thing to take, it let me have the comforts and rest that I needed and allowed me to still feel as though I was in a real place, without having to give up all of my newfound freedom by staying in a hotel.
