I take my family to California for camping. They enjoy the weather and the attractions.
The one thing that everyone wants to do is spend some time at the Disney theme park.
There are great campgrounds around this area and because we are camping, I can usually afford to take them to the park a couple times.
This makes the kids happy and I usually take a book along to enjoy while they wait in line for the rides. I do not have a man around to do the hard stuff, so I try to make camping fun and easy for me.
I have found that camping with my pop up camper works just find for the four of us. I have three boys. They are into the theme parks and other things around the area. Mostly, they like to hike, swim and hang around with their new friends. I find that having time to myself is rare, since my campsite is always filled with kids, but I love it. Since Anaheim is my favorite city, I even take some time for myself to visit the Golden Vine Winery and the Hobby City Doll and Toy Museum. This is relaxing for me.
I figure since I have kids all night, I can expect other campers to watch mind and their own once and awhile. It works out great for everyone. They have peaceful campsites at night and I have my exploring during the day.
I believe I am the winner in most cases. Anaheim and California in general has so much to offer. One year I would like to try a different area for camping, but I will have to make sure it is a family orientated campground so I can still enjoy my own time during the daytime hours.
