One of my favorite areas to camp in when we are in Delaware is Cape Henlopen State Park.
The kids enjoy the activities and the area for just about everything. The campgrounds are superior and they are so close to everything.
I find the fishing is my sport and when I have a good day, we have fish for dinner. During the summer months, they have band concerts, volleyball and a great boardwalk to walk by Rehoboth, which is a great place to visit. The Seaside Nature Center is all about the ocean and the habitants, which is exciting. I enjoy visiting this quite a bit.
We do take in some of the local attractions that Delaware has to offer such as museums and a historic district. You can walk around the area, which is nice. They have many restaurants that we frequent at least once or twice a week. I prefer the Buttery Restaurant and Bar after a day of seeing the Trader Home and the Captain Johnston House. The family takes a walk down Second Street in Lewes, which is filled with shops and heritage. The area seems to be untouched by the changing world. It is a small but beautiful town.
We try to see as much as we can when we camp in Delaware. The when we are back at the campsite, we take the four wheel out on the beach and over the dunes for some excitement. You never know what you will see while camping in the park.
I like this area and the campgrounds for the family activities and the relaxation. The people in the campgrounds are fun to sit around the fire with and talk to about our adventures. It is a nice time and our family enjoys camping and meeting new people.
