There are many things to see when going to Massachusetts, especially in the central area of the state.
I experienced fist hand the beauties of Massachusetts, last summer, when I traveled there along with my wife and kids. We, as a family, are great camping enthusiasts, and the area in which we camped in did not disappoint us at all.
If you ever go there, I strongly suggest you to visit the Mohawk Trail, as this is like experiencing live history! The region has really a lot to offer, not just history – as this may be a little boring for the little ones – but a lot of outdoor recreation possibilities.
My wife is passionate about New England old architecture, so, for her, this vacation was filled with visits along the picturesque villages. She really got all worked up about the covered bridges and the white churches that we had found along the way. As for my passions, which include fishing, I discovered that, in Massachusetts, the place to fish is Franklin County. We also did some hiking in the area, as the place is more than generous with natural treasures.
But the children were the most excited about the trip that we organized for them to see the gray seals at Cape Cod. And it was not only that; the boat ride to the seal colony was a lot of fun, and I must admit it, not only to them.
The key to the perfect trip in Massachusetts is to find a home base – and a camping site is the place for that, in my opinion – and from there, to explore all the attractions in the state. All right, maybe not all of them, as a single vacation is not enough, but you can still get to enjoy a lot of nature, fresh air, and history, all in one package. In my humble camper’s opinion, Massachusetts is the state to go for a summer vacation.
