Embark on Camping Adventure in Michigan

Camping in Michigan

My family and I discovered the beauty of Michigan lakes just last year, when we decided to do something different for our vacation.

We took advantage of the fact that the kids were on holidays, too, so we embark on a camping adventure to Michigan. Our adventure took us along the Great Lakes, as Michigan borders with Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Huron, and Erie.

I could not believe that my kids would be so excited, as they had put up quite a fight when we told them about our intentions. Like the saying goes, all is well when it ends well, and our trip really came out nice for us, and for the children, too.

I must say that I was glad to visit the area when autumn was underway. For those that did not see yet the foliage in Michigan, in autumn, this is something that should not be missed, especially while you can still enjoy some of the soon to be forgotten last rays of summer sun.

There are many things to do in Michigan, and, as we focused on the area of the Great Lakes, we enjoyed quite a lot of fishing, sailing and motor-boating. I would not recommend them, though, for swimming, as the water can be quite chilly. When my husband and kids insisted on having a little sun bathe on the beach, we preferred the inland lakes, which are warmer and more convenient for such activities.

For people that enjoy more canoeing or surfing, they should go to visit the rivers situated in the forest parks of Michigan. We did not experience any of these activities, but we heard other people that we had encountered talking about how much fun they had with all the outdoor activities provided in the natural parks. All that we can say about our trip to Michigan and the Great Lakes is that we had tones of fun!
