You can enjoy the sweet weather of southeast Missouri if you travel to the area towards the end of the summer.
This is my favorite time of the year to go there, and, I usually like to have a few of my friends with me. For us, camping in Missouri is a fixture in out summer routine and we would not change it for the world.
I thought about traveling to the area since I was a kid and I read about the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Growing up, I was able to get in the car and just go to Missouri to walk in their imaginary steps, as I had dreamed of doing. Pretending to be Tom Sawyer is not the only thing that I love doing when in Missouri.
I also enjoy a lot to take in the natural beauty of Ozark lakes, as well as to listen to the beautiful country music they play in Branson.
I then head to the northeast area of the state, where we are used to drop by the Six Flags amusement park, where me and my friends love to spend a few hours pretending that we are kids again. Not to mention that the park is offering a lot to adults, too, with concerts and firework shows and many other attractions.
But what I like best when camping in Missouri is to use my camping site just as the starting point of an exploring adventure, just like Tom and Huck did. Of course, I do not denounce the advantages of civilization when I go hiking and picnicking around Lake Taneycomo. We enjoy to immerse into the wildlife there, following the trails that take us to the shore of the lake and we also do a little bit of scuba diving, as this is among our favorite activities when we go to Missouri.
This is how we spend our time when we are in Missouri; you may enjoy the same things as we do, but, if you don’t, I still believe that Missouri has a lot to convince you go there.
