I traveled with my family to Nebraska just last year, for a camping vacation.
We preferred to set our camp near Omaha, but we did more than just visit the areas around Omaha, even though there were plenty of things to see and do there.
I took the kids out for some cycling, and horseback riding, but I also promised them that I will them there once again for some winter sports like ice skating, and skiing, when the weather will be cold enough to permit it.
Fortunately, the place has more than just things that kids and the sporty type of adult might enjoy. Luckily, me and my husband, we share the same passion for golf, so after we let the kids to rest in the camping site, we went to experience the twenty-seven hole courses that Nebraska is famous for. There is nothing more appealing to me than a good quality green field to practice my swing!
We spend some of the days near Glenn Cunningham Lake where the biking trails are asphalted, so it is easier for everybody to enjoy a great day on the biking, taking in the fresh air. After the hustle and bustle of the days of hiking and biking, we succeeded in convincing our daughters to come with us and experience the wildlife in Nebraska. It took us the expense of buying each one a pair of binoculars, but we managed to take them along with us to experience some wildlife viewing and bird watching in the neighborhoods.
We compensate them for being such nice kids with a picnic outdoor. They enjoyed it all a lot, and they were not the only one. We already think about coming back to Nebraska and experience more of what this area in our country has to offer in terms of outdoor activities.
