My wife and I are retired and find that we enjoy camping in Connecticut.
We never run out of attractions to see and things to do. We have an RV for camping and this makes our lives so much easier than when we had the pop up camper.
I love traveling the Connecticut area and staying at the campgrounds around different areas. Fall months in Connecticut are great. The colors of the leaves during peak season are a look of beauty. The other thing about the fall months is Connecticut has some fall festivals that we enjoy going to while there.
The Renaissance Faire during the months of September and October in Hebron is what I like to see, while my wife enjoys the Apple Harvest festival during September in Southington. We see the other festivals as well, but those are the two we enjoy the most. Connecticut is a small state, but it has so much to offer those of us who camp. The campgrounds are flattering to say the least. They are well taken care of and we have never had any problems at any of the campsites we stay at in the area.
When we stay in the Hartford area, we like to take bike rides around the campgrounds and surrounding area to see the different scenic views. The traffic is not bad and we enjoy the day by taking a picnic lunch and make it a day. My wife and I keep going back, we do travel to other states, but always make it back to Connecticut for the fall months.
The weather is not bad at this time of year, the bugs are few, and in between, which makes it nice to be outside doing things. We also enjoy meeting new people and making new friends while we are camping.
