Small Travel Trailers

Travel-Lite Express E14 belongs to the class of small travel trailers, designed for 2 persons (version E14X for 4) it offers all modern amenities you may need during your vacations....

Travel Lite (operating in New Paris, Indiana) since long is known for its line of Truck Campers.

In 2012 the company started also manufacturing travel trailers introducing two series: lower end Express and higher end Idea.

The series Express includes five models from the smallest Express E14 (exterior “box” length 10’6”) to the largest one - Express E19QBH (exterior “box” length 17’6”).

The first one - travel trailer Express E14 comes in two versions- Basic and Expandable (E14X), both sharing the same layout and dimensions.

The only difference is an extra flip-out bed in the model E14X offering more sleeping space and “tent-like” environment that may attract nature lovers.

The Express E14 belongs to the class of small travel trailers that can be towed by any 6-cilinder vehicle (camper’s dry weight is below 1,800 lbs).

Although let’s face it – this is not a luxury camper, it is an example of recent trends among manufacturers of small travel trailers. Simply - its interior offers most vital amenities that typically you may need (and enjoy) during your vacations including private wet-bath. The large choice of options (including some well-designed Packages) allows for customization according to individual needs.

The kitchen comes with electric plate (2-burner stovetop is an option), 2 cu. ft electric refrigerator (3-way fridge is an option), sink w/faucet, optional built-in microwave oven and what is priceless – plenty of cherry cabinetry including a pantry.

The rear-end dinette with overhead cabinetry serves as a place where you can enjoy your breakfast and lunch, but also provides the “living-area” for board games, reading … And for nights it converts to dual (54” x 80”) bed.

The wet bath includes a foot-flushed toilet and shower (the latter is an option). Large wardrobe with storage bins, TV cabinet w/storage, storage beans under seating and accessible from the outside storage space provide enough of room for your favorite stuff ….

Worth to mention – thanks to high GVWR and low dry weight, the camper has really tremendous cargo capacity (almost 2,000 lbs).

Express E14 floor-plan

Optional furnace, AC system (either side or roof-mounted) and R-7 insulation, make these trailers ideal for extended season camping for two (4 persons version E14X).

Despite company’s name “Travel-Lite”, both series of travel trailers make use of rather well-proven but rather old technology. The whole structure is based on 2x2 and 2x4 solid wood studs as well as 3.5” wood bow truss rafters and double-plywood floor system – far cry from modern-day lightweight constructions based on aluminum and composite materials. It’s true – the Express trailers are solid, somehow lite, but the use of wood makes them prone to usual problems: rot, mildew and eventually limited durability (in case of any water leaks).  Fortunately, full-exterior fiberglass siding (it’s optional) at least can provide good barrier against weather elements.

Fortunately, the most important part of the camper – the roof, is made from TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) so no surprisingly it comes with 15-years warranty.  It should be noted, that the Express series has the RVIA Seal - a sign that the camper successfully meet rigorous standards prescribed by members  of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association.
