Class C Motor Home RV

Is Class C Motor Home RV Right for You?

1.      Description

Class A, B and C motorhomes can be easily distinguished by the way they look. The last one has a distinguishable over cab part, which makes it look more like a camper. A Class C motorhome is one of the smaller sized RVs out there. If we think about its size, it is somewhere between the class A motorhomes and the class B units. They resemble mostly a standard cargo van, but they have beautiful interiors that offer all the comfort you need.

They are also called mini motor homes and they have been very popular especially in the 70s. They are the most preferred motorhomes by many people, because they offer enough space for a whole family, but they are easier to drive and to park than larger motorhomes.

2.      Interior features

Class C motorhomes come with the basic facilities for a comfortable traveling time, such as king or queen size bed, sofas, some storage space and a dinette. They also come with a small shower and toilet, both in one room.

While class C motorhomes are not as luxurious as the class A ones are, they can be quite comfortable and fancy, especially certain models. However, most models come with the basic facilities that you need while traveling. There are several options that they come with, such as entertainment options and air conditioning. In the end you can decide how much comfort you need and how much you are willing to pay for it.

3.      Exterior features

The camper part of the class C motorhomes extends over the cab area, which gives this RV a specific look. Usually this space over the cab is where the beds are (a king or a queen size bed). Sometimes it is simply used for storage space or setting up an entertainment area.

The class C motorhomes have doors on both sides (the cab part). Their length can be anywhere between 20’ feet to 33 feet. Their size is small enough to find a parking place and big enough to have sleeping space for up to six people.

Some of the models have the slid out features, which makes the interior more spacious. With the push of a button the walls extend, giving more space for spending time inside the vehicle.

 4.      Price

These types of motorhomes will use less fuel than the class A ones, but by not much. However, there is quite a big difference between their price. The price of a class C motor home ranges between $50,000 and $170,000.

Visitor's Story:

The class C motor home, also known as a mini motor home, is generally built on a truck chassis. It has amenities similar to Class A RV's, just smaller, less expensive and luxurious. Depending on the camper you get you can sleep up to eight people.

The over cab space can be used for storage if not being used for sleeping. These motor homes are between 22 to 35 feet in length as opposed to the 24 to 45 feet of a Class A motor coach. If you have kids a Class C mobile home is the ideal way to travel. No hotel bills, no having to stop every hour for a potty break and most of these campers come equipped with either a DVD player or VCR and TV.

This will lessen the "are we there yet?" please. The cost of a new Class C motorcoach starts at about $49,000. You can apply for a loan to finance your Class C motor home RV on line. However if that price is too high, search on line for a used Class C motor home RV. If you can find a used Class C RV for sale by owner, you can save quite a bit of money since private owners are likely to be more willing to negotiate the price.

A friend of ours that we met in Montana got his Class C motor coach this way. He managed to save $2000 off what a dealer wanted for the same year, make and model in similar condition. Another way to save money when you are looking to buy a recreational vehicle is get a Class C diesel motor home. While diesel may cost more per gallon, you get much better mileage from diesel fuel.

You can also look in the newspaper for a Class C mobile home for sale. You may also want to look in the phone book for (Class C) motor home sales in your area. When you hit the road in your Class C RV and stop for the night or a few days at a RV park, you will find the people for the most part are very friendly. It doesn't matter whether your neighbor has a luxury motor coach or a pop-up tent trailer.

Rvers are among the friendliest people you will ever meet. Staying in an recreational vehicle park or campground is like living in a small town. You neighbor in the motor coach may help you tap into electric and water hook ups and you may help him change a tire on his car. Campers of all kinds will be in the same park and the experienced folks, whether in a motor coach or a Class C RV, will not hesitate to help the newbie although you may take some ribbing.

A Gulf Stream Class C motor home rivals the luxury motor coaches in amenities and elegance. Gulf Stream is one of the best known Class C motor home RV manufacturers. Although my wife and I love our Class B motor van we really like the new RV motor home C class recreational vehicles. If you have never been Rving before, you should consider renting a Class C motor home for your first venture into the RV world. Then if you really love it, you can buy the Class C motor home RV of your choice.
