Coachmen Clipper 14R
Small Travel Trailers

Coachmen’s Clipper 14R travel trailer offers comforts available in larger, more expensive models, but due to small dimensions and lite weight it is economic and towable by family cars.....

Coachmen (currently Division of the Forest River Inc.) is one of the pioneers of the RV industry.

Founded in 1964 by brothers Corson, the company continues its traditions with the series of ultra-light Clipper travel trailers.

The series includes models ranging from 16’8” (model 14R) to 21’4” (models 17xx).

The Clipper 14R specially designed for small, fuel-efficient towing vehicles is the smallest in the family.

Despite its reduced dimensions its internal features make it a comfortable place for camping adventure for two people. The kitchen area located in the center of the trailers includes 2-burner stove, single bowl sink, refrigerator, microwave, large countertop and abundance of maple cabinetry including an overhead section.

The spacious dinette at the front of the camper with a large storage area converts into a bed. The sofa facing the kitchen provides the necessary seating place especially precious when the dinette is already set as a bed. Rear wardrobe and private toilet with the shower complete the floorplan configuration, making this small unit as comfortable as larger, more expensive models. And all that is achieved while keeping the weight of the camper (2335 lbs. dry) well within the towing capacity of most of family cars.

Coachmen Clipper - Model 14R

The basic 14R version is pre-wired for AC, heater, TV antenna and cable. Although the AC, furnace and TV are not part of the basic configuration, the 13,500 BTU AC and 20,000 BTU furnace together with the 3cu.ft fridge, 6 gals DSI water heater as well as spare tire and 10ft awning –are part of the mandatory “Essential Package”. Maybe some will be disappointed, that the TV is not included in essentials, but nature lovers will agree that the TV is rather an “intruder” than necessary element of good “away-from-home” vacations.

Summarizing: The Coachmen’s Clipper 14R given its small dimensions offers more bang than you would expect for your bucks…..
